Franklin Township's Recycling & Garbage Information

Franklin Township purchased its first garbage truck in 1974 and began collection for our residents. In 1986, when the DEP closed the landfill on Long Run Road in Franklin Township, it became necessary to make garbage collection mandatory in order to make it economically feasible to transport municipal waste outside of Carbon County. The Township provides this service to Franklin Township residents and small businesses only. The Township owns and operates two garbage trucks and currently has one full-time employee and two part-time employees. Trash Removal for the Township is collected on three different days per week, which are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Reminder: For Holiday changes see your annual garbage bill or refer to the Franklin Township Community Calendar located on this webpage. Please contact the Township Administration Office for questions or a copy of the garbage collection regulations.
